Hello there, my name is Amanda Jeffries and I’m an illustrator living in Bristol. I graduated from University Collage Falmouth in 2009 and have since been practicing and developing my work.
My illustrations mainly focus on natural history and I’ve really had fun creating paintings and cut-outs of some of my favorite animals. My days are filled looking after my beautiful daughter Lily but having started school recently I’ve been able to dedicate more time to my illustrations, which has been very rewarding.
My work is usually in one of two styles, the first being a tightly rendered realistic painting style using gouache and acrylic with the second being a crisp simple style using cut-out paper/card and a trusty scalpel.
I enjoy both styles equally and will continue experimenting with both as after completing an image that I have spent three hours painting individual hairs on an animal it can be a real pleasure to switch to a scalpel and use simple lines and block colors.
Thankyou for taking the time to have a look at my site, I hope you like what you see, if you would like to know more then please contact me.
